Erie Native Up for Grammy with Metal Band
You'll want to keep an eye on the Grammy Awards on WSEE and CBS tonight. Bass player and Erie native Dan Briggs is up for a Grammy in the Best Metal Performance category.
Briggs plays with the Grammy nominated group Between the Buried and Me. The accomplished bass player now calls North Carolina home.
The band up for honors formed in Raleigh around the year 2000.
Briggs always acknowledges his mom for introducing him to music.
Karen Briggs Walters was a longtime music teacher in Erie's Public Schools who inspired a love of music in many young students.
She'll be watching as her son earns recognition tonight for his band's Grammy nomination, and hoping they'll take home the award.
