A former Warren County teacher charged with bringing drugs into his classroom and the hospital now faces more charges after smuggling contraband into jail.

Matthew Kiser, 44, has already been fired from his job at Beaty Warren Middle School after he allegedly brought a backpack filled with drugs into his classroom in April.

Kiser was charged last week for giving meth to a woman in the mental health unit of Warren General Hospital and trying to hide the drugs in a cup of coffee when hospital staff attempted to search his hospital room, according to investigators.

Warren Police said while being arraigned for the charges, he had smuggled a controlled substance into the Warren County Jail.

He now faces additional contraband charges.

Kiser could still stand trial for taking the drugs into the school when the case returns to court in February.
