Christyn Allen
Christyn Allen joined the Erie News Now team in December 2020, and she is happy to call Erie home!
She grew up in East Tennessee and got her BS in Journalism from Middle Tennessee State University. While at MTSU, Christyn told stories for TV, radio, and the web. In college, she traveled to Oxford, MS, for the Lens Collective Multimedia Conference and to Des Moines, IA, to cover the 2020 Presidential Caucuses. Christyn won an Award of Excellence from the Broadcast Education Association and first place in Specialized Topic Reporting in the region from the Associated Press - both awards for her work on the road.
Christyn interned for her hometown station, WATE 6 on Your Side in Knoxville, TN. She also spent some time at WKRN News 2 in Nashville. While there, Christyn covered the deadly Super Tuesday tornadoes and the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
She is ready to tell stories important to YOUR community.
When Christyn is not looking for her next story, you can find her watching the newest true crime documentary, at a Dolly Parton concert, or video calling her nephew and two nieces, whom she misses very much.
Christyn is excited to serve the Erie community.
