Millcreek Township School District will make adjustments for students Thursday due to the air quality.

The assistant superintendent sent out a letter Wednesday notifying families, staff and the community of the plans after consulting with township emergency management, Erie County Department of Health and the Department of Environmental Protection's regional office.

While air quality is expected to decrease Wednesday night, it is expected to return to a moderate level Thursday, the letter said.

As a result, school buildings will adjust planned activities accordingly and keep students inside where possible while addressing individual needs, according to the district.

The school district said students, teachers, and staff at Asbury Elementary School will remain inside on Thursday due to the air quality in our area.

Millcreek Township School District said this was a difficult decision but it is the right decision for the health and safety of our students.
