If you suffer from seasonal allergies, you've likely noticed that spring is here thanks to the sneezing, congestion, and watery eyes that come with it. As pollen counts climb, managing allergies is critical when you're dealing with the symptoms.

Dr. Sartaj Ahmed, a Physician with Tri-State Allergy & Asthma, tells us that to keep your windows closed and stay indoors if seasonal allergies are an issue.

Over the counter medication is another way to treat symptoms. However, she says it's important to take your allergy medication as directed.

Health experts stress that these recommendations only work when practiced consistently, especially as allergy season lengthens.

"It has been shown that climate change can lead to increases CO2 levels, a milder winter, as well as a longer, earlier and more severe allergy season," said Ahmed.

It's also recommended that you track when allergy symptoms start so you know what to expect next season.
