Students at Eisenhower Elementary in Russell, PA recently received a unique, hands-on learning experience thanks to the Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation.

The Mobile AG Science Lab was on site, offering students a unique learning experience.

"It’s fantastic," stated Brian Reynolds, Principal of Eisenhower Elementary School. "I would love to see this county wide. Here where we are in rural Pennsylvania, we have a huge agricultural community, so this is a large part of what our kids do. The kids just absolutely love it, the teachers love it, it’s just a great program."

“The kids always remember the lessons that they have learned, it's something they always look forward to,” added Jennifer Mandeville, Fifth Grade Teacher at Eisenhower Elementary.

It is the program's goal to teach students the importance of agriculture and farming in our everyday life.

“It’s very unique how we learn stuff," stated Cailee Williams, Fifth Grade Student. "I think that we are learning things that we would never think about with plants.”

"Agricultural education is so important, especially in this area," stated Cathy Vorisek, Mobile Ag Lab Instructor.  "We are bringing the importance of farming to the children because farming is an old way of life, one that kids aren’t as familiar with, and they should be.”

The Mobile AG Science Lab will be traveling throughout Warren County this month, providing hands-on learning for local students.
