ALBANY, NY (Erie News Now)--AT THE BEGINNING OF THE WEEK GOV. KATHY HOCHUL ANNOUNCED A HANDSHAKE AGREEMENT ON THE FINAL BUDGET SENDING A surprising SHOCK AMONG LEGISLATORS IN THE CAPITOL.

SOME LEGISLATIVE LEADERS SAid HOCHUL JUMPED THE GUN.

“Well, she said there is an agreement and here we are two days after she said that and as far as I know we haven’t voted on any budgets,” said Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay (R-Assembly District 120).

OTHER LEGISLATIVE LEADERS AGREE THE ANNOUNCEMENT WAS PREMATURE.

“I would just say the pencils weren’t fully down,” said Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie (D-Assembly District).

AND THAT’S NOT THE ONLY DRAMA SURROUNDING THE BUDGET PROCESS THIS WEEK. EARLY THIS MORNING THE BUDGET BILL DRAFTING SYSTEM WAS THE TARGET OF A CYBER ATTACK.

THE SENATE’S DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY OFFICE SAid IN A PUBLIC STATEMENT THEY ARE WORKING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE AND THEY DON’T BELIEVE THIS WILL DELAY THE PROCESS.

BUT SENATE REPUBLICANS SAid THEY DOUBT THIS EVENT WON’T HAVE AN IMPACT.

“There seems to be a lack of real communication privately about what this means and that tells me that it clearly is problematic in some way shape or form,” said Senate Minority Leader Rob Ortt (R-62nd Senate District).
