[scroll to find FULL VIDEO INTERVIEWS with all 7 candidates for Attorney General in Pennsylvania]

The Pennsylvania Primary is on Tuesday, April 23.

Democrat and Republican candidates are vying to see who will represent their party in the General Election in November.

When voters look at their ballot, they will see a plethora of candidates ranging from county positions to the President of the United States (though that race has essentially already been decided as Biden vs Trump, with Robert F. Kennedy as a leading independent).

BUT THERE ARE A TON OF OTHER LOCAL AND STATE ELECTED OFFICIALS TO VOTE FOR!!

Pennsylvania has 11 candidates racing against opponents in three primaries: State Auditor, State Treasurer, and Attorney General. We talked with all 11 candidates, and asked them the same 6 questions.

Below, you can find a description for the office of the Attorney General, links to FULL VIDEO INTERVIEWS with each of the attorney general candidates, and the chance to read transcripts of those interviews.

The Attorney General

The Attorney General’s office is the state’s prosecution, handling all of its criminal and civil trials. The office also focuses on public protection (e.g. consumer protections) and public engagement. There are hundreds of lawyers, prosecutors, investigators, and support staff employed across the state to make this happen.

In turn, whoever becomes Attorney General is not in every court room for every trial— but they do set priorities for which types of cases the state will pursue.

Current Attorney General Michelle Henry is not running in the 2024 election race. She was First Deputy Attorney General when Josh Shapiro was the elected Attorney General. When he became Governor, she stepped in as the lead until the next election.

There are 5 Democrat candidates and 2 Republican candidates on the ballot for the office on the April 23 Primary.
