Gannon University is moving ahead with the water research lab phase of project NePTWNE in the Blasco Library.

This comes after an attempt by County Council to stop the plan fell short of the necessary votes.

Dr. Sarah Ewing, Provost and Vice President for Student Experience, said the university is working with an architect to design and plan the center.

Those plans will then be presented to the public to offer input.

Ewing said she's convinced the project will benefit the county.

The community public meetings will be held in late June or July ahead of construction. The project is set to finish around May or June of 2025.
