The Millcreek Township Fire Department (MFD) is looking to hire multiple paid part-time firefighters.

According to the Township, this comes after a highly successful first quarter of 2024 marked by high call volume and new partnerships with existing volunteer departments.

“Recruits will take a physical test on May 25, 2024. Before this, they need to complete a digital test to be considered,” said MFD Chief Cliff. “Ultimately the tests are attainable and common sense for most of those with firefighting instincts and a desire to serve the community.”

MFD responded to over 700 calls in the first quarter of 2024.

Additionally, the fire department also signed agreements with the West Lake Volunteer Fire Departments and the Kearsarge Volunteer Fire Department to utilize their firefighting stations and equipment.

The fire department also hopes to recruit or train more paramedics for their team after purchasing an ambulance to serve as a backup to the Millcreek Paramedic Service.
