Boating season is starting, and soon people will be enjoying time on Lake Erie.

When there's an issue on the water, and help is needed, Lakeshore Towing comes to the rescue.

The company has been based out of an office on Erie's bayfront for more than 20 years, but the business owners are celebrating 37 years in operation.

"We started out primarily with the marine rescue, so they're not stranded on the lake," said Teresa Guerrein.

The business started even before her and her husband Eric said, "I do." Their life has evolved around the water.

"The first two years were a struggle, but we started offering more services and the membership," said Eric Guerrein.

Lakeshore has five rescue boats to assist commercial dive teams or the Coast Guard when there's distress on the lake and private boat owners.

It offers memberships for boaters much like AAA for vehicles.

Lakeshore assists water businesses and boats that visit from around the globe.

The company will also salvage capsized or sinking boats and houseboats.

Lakeshore Towing also monitor a marine radio 24/7 to provide assistance and does everything from dredging to diving and improvement projects like building seawalls.
