In anticipation of a dangerous heat wave, Waste Management will begin trash and recycling collection at 5:00 a.m., one hour earlier than usual, starting Tuesday, June 24 through Friday, June 27.

The earlier start is a precaution to protect workers from high temperatures during the hottest part of the day.

Millcreek residents are asked to place their bins curbside the night before pickup to ensure service is not missed.

“We appreciate the community’s cooperation,” township officials said. “This change prioritizes the safety of the WM crews working under intense summer conditions.”

The National Weather Service is forecasting extreme heat across the region, urging residents to stay hydrated, avoid peak sun hours, and check on vulnerable neighbors.
