Dozens Protest Deadly Shooting in Erie
Dozens of people gathered Thursday at the scene of a deadly shooting involving a Pennsylvania State Parol Agent.
It happened at E. 27th and German St. around 9:45 p.m. City of Erie Police, Pennsylvania State Police, and SWAT were all called to the scene.
Investigators said the parole agent fired a department-issued pistol at a man who was then hit by gunfire.
That man has been identified by family as Marcello Woodard. His identity has not been released by officials.
He was a father, his family said.
Protesters said this is about more than one man - it's about accountability.
"Our community is outraged," community member Bridgett said. "One of the members, the staples, one of the leaders, is gone. He's no longer here."
"Everybody here, we born and raised on these very streets. For him to get taken like that, it's a [travesty]," community member Malcom Pullim said.
