Route 531 Reopens Near I-90 in Erie County as Construction Moves to Next Phase
Route 531 (Depot Road) near the Interstate 90 interchange is now reopened to traffic, according to PennDOT, following the completion of initial construction work.
Drivers are advised to remain alert for lane restrictions as concrete paving continues on the northbound side of the roadway.
Davison Road is expected to reopen by the end of July, at which point all current lane restrictions will be lifted.
Next, construction will shift to the realignment of Route 531 north of Harbor Ridge and the addition of a turning lane near Clark Elementary School.
During part of this phase, Route 531 will be closed, and a detour will be posted using Route 20, Route 290 (Bayfront Connector), Route 531, and I-90.
The full Route 531 improvement project is scheduled to be completed before the end of the year.
