Toxins in water samples at 16 Erie County locations exceed the limits for dogs to safely be in the water, according to the Erie County Department of Health Friday.

The affected locations are:

  • Presque Isle State Park
    • Vista 3
    • Sturgeon Bay
    • Ferry Slip
    • Marina
    • Perry Monument
    • Horseshoe Pond
    • Boater's Beach
    • Beach 11 (Zone 5)
    • Beach 2 (Zone 6)
  • Avonia Beach
  • East Ave. Boat Ramp
  • Lake Cliff (Lawrence Park) Boat Launch
  • Erie Yacht Club
  • Liberty Park
  • Dobbins Landing
  • South Pier

Samples are collected once per week, and advisories are updated Thursdays or Fridays from late May through the end of October.
