Warren, PA - The Warren County School District is gearing up for the first day of school on Tuesday, August 26th, following the consolidation of Youngsville and Sheffield Middle High Schools. District leaders say they have been working tirelessly to ensure a smooth start for students.
Superintendent Gary Weber emphasized the district’s focus on safety.
“Everything is going really well, we have had a lot of movement this summer, but we are right on track with everything that needed to get done," added Weber. "We are concentrating this year on behavior and discipline and are aiming to get control back within the classroom with a zero-tolerance plan for bullying. And for better transparency and communication, I will be putting out some videos on our district site and social media on various topics including behavior, discipline, and other general informational topics."
Transportation has been a major concern for parents, especially after the recent closure and consolidation of Sheffield and Youngsville Middle-High Schools.
Mike Kiehl, the district’s Business Services Director and former Transportation Director, outlined the steps taken.

“We’ve calculated all of the routes carefully," Kiehl said. "Every bus and van are equipped with radios, so we have better communication with all of our vehicles should an issue arise, and no student should be on the bus for more than an hour. The transportation plan that we are implementing here today, is a plan that was created nine months ago.”
Classes officially begin Tuesday, August 26th for Warren County School District students and staff. The district says they will keep monitoring transportation and student needs and encourage parents or guardians to report any issues immediately so they can be resolved quickly.
