The 29th Annual German Festival
This weekend you can experience a trip to Germany without hopping on plane. The German Festival is a warm, family-focused atmosphere with German cuisine, music and dancing. Festival admission is five dollars per person, children 12 and under are free. Parking is free and the heritage festival goes on rain or shine. This event attracts thousands of attendees from all over the region. Our area has several cultural events throughout the year. Event organizers Ray Luniewski explained why highlighting cultural events is important.
“It’s an important thing because it shows how all these cultures have come together and I mean we all live here in Erie, we're all together in the United States. And it's nice to have that little bit of history behind you. And I think it's really interesting that you can showcase from one culture to the next. Well, I didn't know that about you and I didn't know this about you. Well you get to these festivals, and you can experience some of the differences and some of the similarities.”
