Suspect in Custody After Perry Square Stabbing
Police are investigating a stabbing in Perry Square in downtown Erie.
It happened around 9 a.m. Wednesday.
A man was stabbed several times around the neck, Deputy Chief of Erie police Rick Lorah said.
The victim was taken to UPMC Hamot Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, confirmed by Erie police, is identified as Clyde Hoskins.
Police tape surrounded an area on the west side of Perry Square along Peach St.
Gannon University sent the following email to campus after the incident:
Erie Police are searching for a man last seen running west from Perry Square who is believed to have stabbed someone in the park. He has a beard and is wearing a light-brown sweatshirt and jeans. We will send updates as we get them.
He is facing charges of attempted homicide.
