The students and staff of Klein Elementary School kicked off their 8th annual “Start With Hello” week.

The students were greeted with cheers, high fives, music and smiles.

It is a nationally recognized week to raise awareness and educate students on how to reduce social isolation.

This initiative was created by the Sandy Hook Promise. 

Their organization works to help pass legislation that advances school safety. 

Smith said, “Start With Hello” is just a simple way to make people feel less alone.
