Mercy Center for Women Hosts Open House for Brandy's Corner
On Sept. 18, the Mercy Center for Women hosted an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony for their new facility, Brandy's Corner.
Brandy's Corner is a 12-bedroom transitional housing facility that is located in the former Holy Rosary Rectory— which the Mercy Center purchased in January 2025 before a nine-month renovation.
During the renovation time, one community member, Brandy Krieger lost her life to cancer in March. The facility in named in her honor, and the Mercy Center says that they remember her for her resilience, compassion and dedication.
Executive Director, Jennie Hagerty states, "But I think what we're most excited about is that we're giving people back their lives again, and we're doing it because that is what we do best in our community with collaborations— and they are on our campus. So, they only have to walk a few feet over to the Mercy Center or a few feet over to the Mercy Anchor Community Center to get those required services that they need to be successful on their journey."
For those who live in this facility, they will have access to the programming available from the Mercy Center for Women and the Mercy Anchor Community Center. Brandy's Corner can house up to 15 individuals, and the whole campus, including Brandy's Corner, can house a total of 85 individuals.
