
The Cherry Fest is the only fundraiser for fire services in that Erie County community.

The department that serves a portion of both Millcreek and Fairview, hopes several new and old funding sources will help pay the bills.

“If there are thunderstorms anywhere, nearby the potential is that a large wave could come from this thunderstorm and catch them off guard,” said Kirk Lombardy, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Cleveland.

Action could come from Washington, D.C., as well as Harrisburg, because the federal government is also investigating.
