The Erie Polar Plunge raises money and awareness for Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA). Plungers commit to “freezin’ for a reason” and raise a minimum of $50 to step into the icy waters of Lake Erie.

Proceeds support nearly 20,000 athletes who participate in Special Olympics across Pennsylvania.

In 2017, 675 plungers raised $97,000.
