Ghosts Afloat - A Frightening Trip Aboard Niagara
After a hiatus since 1993, The Flagship Niagara League has brought back a benefit event that takes people on scary trip through history aboard Erie's historic Flagship Niagara. The event is called, Ghosts Afloat. The idea is that ghosts from the Battle of Lake Erie return to haunt their 1813 stomping grounds. The ship is offering a haunting trip to scare visitors and scare up funds to support the work of the league. With the help of dancers, actors and fencers from Mercyhurst College anyone seven years old and up can enjoy a haunted visit to the historic vessel.
High winds and rain dampened opening weekend for the event, but conditions were much better for week two. There's one more weekend to visit Ghosts Afloat. The ship will be open from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. October 22-23. Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12, if you buy online at ghostsafloat.org.
