Protester Arrested as City Removes Occupy Erie Tents

A woman is arrested Saturday after Erie city officials show up to Perry Square and dismantle the tents being used by Occupy Erie protestors.
The protesters say employees from the Public Works Department showed up around three o'clock and began tearing down their tents.
They say a woman was arrested after she refused to let go of one of the tents as it was being removed.
The protesters vow to remain in Perry Square, and they say these latest actions by the city will not stop their movement.
"We're cold but we're also not out of site out of mind. We let people know we're still here and it hasn't destroyed the movement. Rosa parks when she got arrested, it didn't destroy the civil rights movement, it actually made it stronger," said Heather Garczynski, an Occupy Erie protester.
The protesters tell us they have no plans to leave Perry Square any time soon.
