Newly drawn political lines approved this week by the courts will mean some big changes in how Erie County voters are represented in Harrisburg.

Erie County will have more representatives but some believe less clout. The new maps moves the entire fifth district out of Erie County to an area outside Reading.

Current Representative Greg Lucas will see his Edinboro home moved into the 3rd District currently served by democrat Ryan Bizzarro.

It raises the possibility that Lucas and Bizzarro would run against each other in 2014.

"We knew it would happen," Lucas told us. "We (Lucas and Bizzarro) even joked about it."

The current 5th District will be split into the districts of two southern based districts, Brad Raoe's 6th District and Michele Brook's 17th.

But having six reps in Erie County instead of five might dilute and not add to Erie County's voice in Harrisburg.

"It's going to mean less clout (for Erie County)" Bizzarro told us. "I firmly believe that."
