A smokey and costly fire broke out in Albion Saturday evening at the Northwestern School District bus garage at 10500 Reservoir Road.  The fire was first reported about 6:30 PM.  Albion fire chief Scott Hyde said it started in a section of the bus garage where there are no roll down doors.

One bus was in flames and the fire spread to the two buses parked on either side of it.  That leaves three buses damaged and others with likely smoke damage.  The chief says the loss will top 350 thousand dollars.

Volunteer fire crews from Edinboro, Girard and Platea assisted in the firefight. What caused the fire is still under investigation.  Chief Hyde calls the origin undetermined for now.  Fire officials are expected to be back at the bus garage Sunday to look for a cause.
