Erie Detective Talks About Case Involving Baby With High Blood Alcohol Level

Charges could be coming soon, in the investigation into a baby found with a dangerously high blood alcohol level.
Wednesday, we brought you the exclusive interview with the child's mother.
Jessica Bachmaier is the mother of 13-month old Nevaeh. She took her to the hospital earlier this month with a near-deadly blood alcohol level.
Nevaeh is now in foster care, while the investigation into how she had a blood alcohol level of .289 continues.
For an adult, that's 3 times the legal limit for driving.
And according to police, it could be deadly for a child of that age and size, 20 pounds.
Erie Police Detective Sergeant Jim Spagel is heading the investigation, which he says has come with its challenges.
Mainly because the victim, obviously can't tell him what happened.
Sgt. Spagel will sit down with the district attorney's office early next week, to go over the case, and decide what, if any charges will be filed.
"We review the cases together, we come to a mutual agreement of what we think is an appropriate charges to be filed in a case like this," said Sgt. Spagel. "And at that time, we'll make a decision as soon as they review the facts, and the interviews, and the physical forensic evidence," Sgt. Spagel added.
Nevaeh is in the care of a foster family, the Office of Children and Youth is involved. A hearing on the case involving the child's custody is set for next week.
