A motorcyclist seriously hurt when his collided with a car Saturday night on West Lake Road, has been transferred to a Pittsburgh hospital. State police investigators say 26-year-old Jose Colon, suffered major injuries when he was thrown from his motorcycle as it hit a car pulling out from Morrison Drive.

The driver of the car, 82-year-old Marilyn Gordon was not hurt.  Colon was wearing a helmet, but according to the police report, investigators say he wasn't using it properly.  Lake Shore rescuers took him to UPMC Hamot. Colon was then transferred to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Route 5 from Pasadena to Manchester Road was closed to traffic while an accident reconstruction team investigated.
