Sunshine and warm temperatures  at Conneaut Lake meant perfect conditions for today's kickoff of the 24th annual water ski clinic for people with disabilities.

It is sponsored by Three Rivers Adaptive Sports.

About 60-70 skiers will be skimming the waves this week, with the help of about 100 volunteers.

Special equipment allows the skiers to enjoy the speed and thrill of the sport.

Water skier Victoria Gerstung said. "It was so much fun."

Volunteer Steve Wanovich said, "These people deal with things we don't deal with on an everyday basis. So if we can give  a little bit of time to help them do something they would otherwise not do that is the reward."

 The clinic continues through Thursday.
