An EMTA bus has been destroyed after it caught fire Thursday morning in Millcreek Township.

The fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. on West 12th Street near Peninsula Drive.

Firefighters battled sub-zero wind chills as they sprayed the bus with foam and water.

Three passengers and a driver were on board when the bus caught fire. Everyone got out safely.

EMTA mechanics and fire investigators spent time at the scene looking into the cause, but it remains undetermined.

Fire crews on scene said the bus's large natural gas tanks fueled the fire, but they did not put anyone in danger.

The incident shut down a busy part of West 12th Street for several hours.
