John Persinger, president of the Erie Downtown Development Corporation, said he had a productive trip to Cincinnati to meet with its Center City Development Corporation (3CDC).

The success of 3CDC is really what caught the attention of president and CEO of Erie Insurance Tim Necastro and a group of other community leaders.

The non-profit has made huge strides in revitalizing and connecting its central business district and Over-the-Rhine neighborhood.

Its goals of preserving history, making great public spaces and building diverse, mixed-income neighborhoods is just what the EDDC has in mind for Erie.

"I had a great trip to Cincinnati this past week," said Persinger. "I met with officials from the Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation, which is what our organization is modeled on. It was great to not only see their projects in person on the ground, but to also be able to get their thoughts on how we should structure our organization. Some of the things we should be doing in these early phases, so that we'll have success down the road."

The EDDC is looking to hire a vice president of finance and development and a vice president of community engagement.

A cover letter and resume must be turned in by Friday.
