Man Faces Trial on Additional Charge for Cutting Woman's Throat
A man charged with attempted homicide after troopers said he cut a woman's throat in Summit Township will stand trial on an additional charge.
A district judge bound over all charges against Lynard T. Carr, 34, during his preliminary hearing Tuesday afternoon. He faces charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and recklessly endangering another person.
Prosecutors added a charge of simple assault for assaulting another witness at the scene.
It happened in the 7700 block of Edinboro Road in Summit Township around 4:30 a.m. May 2.
Trooper said they found a 37-year-old woman with a cut to her neck. She had a visible scar on her neck during Tuesday's hearing and testified she was hospitalized for five days and needed 19 stitches.
Carr took off and was arrested just south of the residence, according to State Police.
