Bob Merski is ready to take his campaign for the Second District State Representative seat into November.

Merski defeated two other well-known opponents to win the Democratic nomination for the seat. Merski, who currently serves on Erie City Council, defeated former Erie Mayor Rick Filippi, and former Erie County Councilman Jay Breneman.

During his victory speech before a crowd of supporters, Merski credited a well-organized door to door campaign as one of the keys to his win last night.  He also thanked Rep. Flo Fabrizio, the man who currently holds the Second District seat.

"Words cannot express my gratitude to Flo for his endorsement, his dedication to the campaign.  It was our campaign, and I also want to thank his wife Vicki, who stood with us side by side,” Merski said.

Merski's campaign platform centered around good jobs, good public schools, and help for senior citizens and veterans.
