Bike Fest kicked off it's Sunday festivities with a "swap meet," which is where bikers and others can sell each other merchandise in the Harley Davidson of Erie's parking lot. They've got plenty planned for this week, and you can find a schedule here.

Live bands, vendors and motorcycle rides are planned for almost every day from morning to night.

As bikers filter in for the week's festivities, there will be more motorcyclists on the road. That means more traffic and noise, but also warrants a reminder to be extra cautious on the road.

Because of the added traffic and noise, Harley Davidson of Erie appreciates how supportive their neighbors are and try to give back to the Erie community. "They put up with a lot of loud noises and music this week and they’re really great sports about it,”  General Manager Laurie Thompson says, "we're supporting local."

Out of the 14 bands scheduled to play at BikeFest, 12 are local. Thompson also says that her and her team are constantly recommending local businesses to out-of-town bikers who are staying in Erie for the festivities.  “We’re trying to make the best of Erie and help Erie as much as we can, we’re grateful for what Erie has done for us," Thompson said.
