The man whose body was found in Horseshoe Pond At Presque Isle State Park Sunday has been identified as 59 year old John Rzodkiewicz, of Erie.

Two people on paddleboards found the body in the area of the inlet leading to the pond, about 5:30 Sunday afternoon.

Pennsylvania State Police say it appears Rzodkiewicz was fishing in that area.  However, it is not known if he slipped, fell, and could not get out of the water, or whether he had a medical emergency.

He was wearing fishing attire when found, and fishing supplies were nearby, along with his fishing license pinned to a baseball cap.

Police say no foul play is suspected, and the death is ruled accidental, with the cause being drowning.
