It's now more convenient than ever before to pay your parking tickets in the City of Erie.

The Erie Parking Authority entered into a contract with a new company to use handheld devices for ticket enforcement.

Instead of receiving a green ticket with an envelope, parking violators will now receive a long piece of weather-proof paper that has the citation and a picture.

There's a website and phone number on the bottom where you can now pay with a credit card.

"Instead of going to the parking office at City Hall between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., now you can go 24 hours a day credit card online or via phone," said Christopher Friday, deputy director of the Erie Parking Authority.

You don't want to wait to pay your parking ticket.

After ten days, the fine goes up $5. It then increases another $10 after 30 days.
