CityGrows, one of the companies in the 10-week Secure Erie Accelerator program in the Erie Innovation District is launching its technology with the City of Erie starting today.

The tech company is taking the Citizen Response Center on Erie's website to a new level of digital functionality.

The new platform will allow residents to track how the city is handling their questions, complaints, concerns or compliments, from the time the matter is assigned to a department until there is an answer.

CityGrows which operates in about 15 other cities, is launching the platform here at no cost to the city for the first year.  And they're the first company in the accelerator to hire a staff person just for this region.

The company hopes to further develop the product and attract other cities and government bodies in Pennsylvania to get on board.

The CEO of CityGrows says it's just the start of what the company can do for Erie.

The way CityGrows makes a profit on its basic product, is to take a small percentage of payments made to the city, or by charging a subscription for its more advances services.
