Libertarian congressional candidate Beeman to file FEC complaints about debate exclusion
Libertarian candidate for the U.S House of Representatives, Ebert Beeman will file a formal complaint with the Federal Election Commission.
Beeman was not permitted to join Republican United States Rep. Mike Kelly and Democratic candidate Ron DiNicola on stage for Monday night’s congressional debate.
He was outside of Mercyhurst University’s D’Angelo Performing Arts Center, handing out campaign info to people before the debate. He waited until the debate’s 7 p.m. start time before releasing the statement.
It was announced prior to the debate Beeman had not met the necessary criteria set by WJET and its parent company, Nextstar Media Group.
In a statement, Beeman’s Campaign Manager, Brandon Mangoon announced sponsors Mercyhurst University, WJET, and WQLN TV would be listed in the complaint.
He stated a separate complaint will be filed with both Kelly and DiNicola’s campaigns.
