One of Erie's most infamous crimes will again be getting national attention Friday night.

NBC Dateline will broadcast a two-hour special titled "Death Trap" on the 2003 pizza bombing case on Friday, Oct. 19 from 9 to 11 p.m. You can watch it on WICU/NBC.

The special comes 15 years after the death of pizza deliveryman Brian Wells. He was killed when a collar bomb attached to his neck exploded after he robbed a Peach Street bank.

Dateline was in Erie last month interviewing many key players, including lead investigator Jerry Clark and sisters of Brian Wells.

Dateline reporter Dennis Murphy, who is doing the story, thinks viewers will find the show intriguing, especially concerning what happened to Brian Wells.

"I think it is the awful plight this guy is in," said Murphy. "He may start off thinking it is a dummy, the device, but as it ticks down, he realizes this thing is live. It is just absolutely fiendish."
