Those in the entertainment industry in Erie are concerned a new budget proposal could mean disaster to the growth of Erie's amusement events.

Currently, Erie has a 3% amusement tax, meaning all for-profit shows like our local sports team's games and events at the Bayfront Convention Center, are taxed on the revenue they generate at each event.
Mayor Schember's budget proposal aims to increase that tax by 2%, but those in the entertainment industry are scared it could cause Erie to lose attractions.
For the Erie Otters alone, it would cost them half a million dollars over the next 10 years.
