The winter weather has finally arrived, so we're looking ahead to summer!

Thursday afternoon, parts of a Million-dollar exciting investment arrived at Waldameer Park.

Waldameer Park & Water World is one of our area's biggest tourist attractions, and its owners are always trying to come up with ways to improve the amusement park, on Thursday, those efforts moved forward.

Parts for a new ride arrived at Waldameer Park in semi-trucks, then crews unloaded the large parts for the thrill ride, which will be called 'Chaos'.

It's going to be a 16-seat pendulum-style ride that swings riders, eventually in a full circle, upside down, while also spinning those on the ride.

The new, one-million dollar attraction will be ready for the 2019 season, “This will first ride in our park that you will be able to go upside down, so it will be very interesting to see how everyone likes it,” said Steve Gorman, President of Waldameer Park & Water World.

‘Chaos’ will be located near the train station, near the entrance to the park.

Installation is set to be completed in March, with the grand opening in late April, “It's very exciting for us every year to try to add something new to the park, and make decisions on what to bring new to the park, what we can afford, and what we think would work best,” said Gorman.

The Park is also adding to the Water Park, you'll remember the old hot tub was small and often cramped, so the new $500,000 heated relaxation pool will be able to hold more than 100 people.

Waldameer opens this year on May 4th, Water World opens Memorial Day Weekend, on March 24th.
