Fire destroyed a garage on Erie's east side Thursday afternoon.

The flames were reported at the home on E. 43 St. between McClelland and Rice Ave. just before 12:13 p.m.

Nearby Erie Water Works crews spotted the fire.

There is not much left of the garage. There were two vehicles inside.

The house suffered both heat and smoke damage.

Firefighters were able to get the flames under control in about a half-hour.
