Erie Police officers have charged a man after a stabbing incident that happened in the frozen foods section of the Walmart on Elm Street in Erie.

Shortly before 5:30 p.m. Saturday, police and an ambulance were called for reports of a man stabbed inside the store.

Those who called for help described the victim as a man in his 30s.

Rescuers transporting the man to the trauma center say he suffered a stab wound to the back from some sort of sharp instrument.  Police did not recover a weapon.

The officer in charge said the victim's injuries are not life threatening.  He is expected to be released after hospital treatment.

Police took a suspect into custody outside of the store. They charged Ryan Czuwara, 29, of Erie, with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.  He was taken to the Erie County Prison with bond set at $25,000 cash.

Investigators have not indicated any motive for the attack, but do say the two men know each other.
