The Skunk and Goat Tavern in North East has been celebrating its first birthday all weekend long.

The restaurant celebrated with live music, birthday cakes and drink specials.

The space was formerly occupied by a fine dining restaurant called The Cork 1794, but last year, it adopted the restaurant's tavern concept and became a more casual place. The Cork then moved to the West Erie Plaza.

Operators said the switch has made the North East spot even more popular.

"It's a fun atmosphere," said Christina Davis, general manager of The Skunk and Goat Tavern. "It's like a big family here. We all get along really great, and the customers are our family. Once you walk in these doors, you are family."

The restaurant is located right in the heart of downtown North East.
