Allegheny College named Rich Nagy as the 35th football head coach in school history during a news conference Friday.

Nagy is a veteran coach with more than 30 years of experience at the Division I and III levels.

It's a homecoming for Nagy; he served as an assistant coach and eventually associate head coach for the Gators in the 1990s.

He most recently served as the defensive coordinator at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.

The Fairfield, Conn. native replaces B.J. Hammer, who resigned in January to become the head football coach at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.
