For the past 33 years, the  UPMC Centers for Rehab Services has been helping patients.

Hundreds of patients get therapy and other services everyday at five Erie County locations.

An average of 400 patients a week get help at the West 26th Street center.

Facility Director and Physical Therapist Shannon Will says all kinds of therapy and treatments are done.

She said,"It is kind of a one stop shop. You can see more than one provider. Say it is a stroke and you need different services. You can do it all in one building which is so nice for the patients."

Some patients call and make their own appointments, while others are referrals.

Will said, "Physicians, certainly surgeons refer here. We have direct access therapy so patients can call here. We see patients from nursing homes, rehab from home health care services, so really all over."

UPMC has 70 rehab centers around western Pennsylvania. Employees say having so many locations really can benefit patients.. Patients can easily shift to a different location. It often happens at Erie County's five UPMC Centers.

Regional Director Brett Szymusiak said,"So in Erie we are pretty well knit. If we don't have it at one facility we can have it at one of our other ones."
