State Rep. Hosts Event to Help Residents with Unclaimed Property
This Friday is a chance for area residents to locate any unclaimed property they might have in Pennsylvania.
State Representative Ryan Bizzarro is hosting a Treasury Hunt on March 15 to help residents discover whether the State Treasury is holding any of their unclaimed property.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bizzarro's Millcreek office: 1101 Peninsula Srive, Suite 209.
The local legislator says the state treasurer's office estimates that it's holding more than $3 billion dollars in Pennsylvanians' unclaimed property, and that it's not uncommon for people to lose track of property from un-cashed overtime checks, forgotten utility or security deposits, and other accounts.
Bizzarro added that residents who can't make it to Friday's event can still search for unclaimed property online by visiting www.patreasury.gov/unclaimed-property.
