Thrift Shop in Albion Credits its Success to Good Deals and Good Laughs
A pair of business owners in Albion are celebrating a milestone as their thrift shop hits the eight year mark.
One-Eighty Consignment & Thrift Shoppe owners Lisa and Pierino Pieri turned an empty storefront on east state street in Albion into a place that offers the community a good deal and a good laugh.
"It's thrifty fun," Lisa Pieri said.
It's the fun atmosphere, their dog "Mocha" and the layout of their store that keeps customers coming back.
"It's somewhat unbelievable," Pierino Pieri said.
Despite being told at first that businesses in that area don't typically last, they see nothing but continued growth in the future.
"We thought maybe we'd get 10 consignors and now we're way past 1,200," Lisa Pieri said.
The owners say the shop also attracts people from other cities including Buffalo, N.Y. and Pittsburgh.
"It just blows my mind that they're willing to travel to get here," Pierino Pieri said.
The shop, located at 10 East State St. in Albion is open Thursday and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
