What's old is new again as many celebrated National Record Store Day in Erie on Saturday..

People lined up early at Graham's Used Record Store on W. 26 St. to come to grab limited-edition vinyls.

The record industry suffered a huge collapse when CDs hit the scene in the 1980s, but it never went away completely, thanks mostly to DJs who favored them for spinning hip-hop and dance music.

A few years ago, record sales started spiking.

More than 150 special vinyl releases were only available Saturday at independent record retailers.

Though they might not be for everyone, vinyl lovers told Erie News Now they would not trade it for anything.

Currently, records and cassettes represent rare up spots in music sales. They are getting more popular as digital sales fall.
