Traffic on East 38th Street around the Erie VA Medical Center is being reduced to one lane at times, as crews make changes for the new hospital entrance.

Penndot workers are cutting out sections of the boulevard so 38th Street will line up with the new main entrance already completed on the VA's property.

The entire project is designed to improve traffic flow in and out of the medical center.

New traffic lights are up and in place, but the won't be operational until the 38th Street portion of the project is finished.

The new entrance should be ready to open by late June.
